Publicado Posted by editor on 16/11/2009

Seven nature reserves have been approved by the Chinese National Committee for Man and Biosphere Program to join the China Biosphere Protection Network. The reserves include Tianbaoyan in Fujian; Nanshan in Guangdong; Jiuduansha Marshland in Shanghai; Dongyanggou in Sichuan; and Jiangcuibei Marshland in Heilongjiang. In parallel to UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Program, the China Biosphere Protection Network is dedicated to international cooperation, personnel and information exchange, and the introduction of new technology for the protection of biosphere. World Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Sites are two major protection programs carried out by UNESCO globally. Since the first biosphere was set up in 1976, WBR has developed a balanced philosophy on the protection of biodiversity, the promotion of economic and social development and the maintenance of culture values and it has established more than 510 biospheres in 102 countries.
